How the Vacancy Section Works
Like the rest of EJS, the Vacancy Section is light touch and easy to use – it should take only a few minutes to post a vacancy. The aim is to get potential applicants to your website or to send you a private message – you do not need provide every detail of the person specification and job description. Please note that much of the form remains pre-populated once you have posted your first vacancy and you can duplicate previous vacancies if you have any in the Manage Your Vacancies section and this will save you further time. View the sample job vacancy listings here to see how vacancies are viewed by potential applicants.
Vacancies are searched for by Keywords, Local Authority and Phase of Education (primary, secondary, etc). In order for your advert to be found easily, think carefully about the Job Title and make it as simple and clear as possible. ‘Head of Sixth Form’ is more likely to be searched for and found under Keywords than a creative title such as ‘Post-16 Enabling Leader’. We advise that you list your LA as your location.
Posted vacancies are listed on EJS for 60 days. Use the Manage Your Vacancies section to mark a position that has been filled and it will be removed.
Completing the Form
Vacancy Title & Remuneration – Keep it simple and obvious AND include the salary range (ie, MPS).
Local Authority – Please enter your Local Authority here, even if you are not a LA school, ie: Bromley – this will serve as your location.
School Description – This is an opportunity to give the flavour of your school, ie: Outstanding two form entry primary school with strong community links.

- The qualifications needed, ie: Qualifications – good degree with QTS.
- An indication of experience and remuneration, ie: Mainscale post, suitable for either an experienced teacher or NQT.
- (Add further detail if you wish, not forgetting that there is a direct link in the posting to your school website, ie: Graded outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2017.)
